Bob Hardison, President
Bob Hardison is President and co-founder of hardison/downey construction, inc. Founded in 1985, hardison/downey is a commercial general contracting firm licensed in Arizona, California, Nevada, and New Mexico.

Prior to starting his own business, Bob obtained a B.A. in Economics from Arizona State University in 1977 and subsequently began his career in development and construction. From
1978 through 1985, he worked for a large construction and development company as a Project Manager, Senior Project Manager and Manager of Commercial Construction.

As President of hardison/downey, Bob’s primary role is working with the company’s clients on major projects during the conceptual, development and design phases of the project. In this role, Bob provides overall project direction and guidance, as well as design review, conceptual estimating, value engineering, and scheduling.

Bob has been active within the community for a number of years. Currently, he is on the board of The Wellness Community of Central Arizona, a cancer support group, as well as serves on the regional board of Teach for America. In 2002, Bob was awarded the Distinguished Achievement Award by the ASU College of Business.

Over the past 18 years, hardison/downey construction has grown steadily and is recognized as one of the outstanding construction companies in Arizona. The company has averaged over $80 million in annual volume for the past five years and has received several of the construction industry’s most prestigious awards.

Pat Downey, Vice President
Pat is native of Tucson, Arizona and obtained his B.S. in Public Administration in 1976 with highest distinction and a law degree in 1980 from the University of Arizona. Before co-founding hardison/downey construction, inc., he spent two years in a private legal practice with an emphasis in construction and real estate and three years as an in-house counsel for a large construction and development company.

Since co-founding hardison/downey in 1985, Pat has directed the marketing and administration of the company, including bonding, banking, insurance, risk management and planning. He also serves as the "Principal in Charge" for select clients and projects. Pat is the past President of the Phoenix Chapter of the Arizona's Contractor Association and also served on the State Board of Directors.

Pat has been very active in the community, serving three years on The Executive Council of the Boys and Girls Club of Metropolitan Phoenix and engaging in fundraising for Cystic Fibrosis and Southwest Autism Research Center. He served on the Advisory Board of Directors for a Phoenix area bank for several years and was elected to the Board of Directors of Valley Commerce Bank in 2000.

With the combined leadership of Pat Downey and Bob Hardison, hardison/downey has grown steadily and is recognized as one of the outstanding construction companies in Arizona. The company has averaged over $80 million in annual volume for the past three years and has received several of the construction industry’s most prestigious awards.
